Show me the money: Low on cash? The Angel recommends getting a party thrown at the swanky Paradise Valley digs of Jason and Jordan Rose. The Tuesday evening shindig at Chez Rose benefited Andy Thomas and his bid to win the GOP nomination for attorney general, and no doubt the chardonney and appetizers were scrumptious. Seems the Clean Elections candidate is still struggling to raise seed money, which is capped at about $46,000. The Angel worries about the fair-haired prosecutor. Thomas pulled in nearly $280,000 in his 2008 bid to win re-election as county attorney. But he's raised just $38,000 since he started testing the AG waters last fall. Sure, taxpayers have handed Thomas $183,000 to help him get his message across. But thanks to the U.S. Supreme Court, he won’t be getting any more public cash to match GOP candidate Tom Horne’s fundraising, which has been brisk. Maybe it’s just the Angel, but seems like feuding with county supervisors and judges might put a crimp in one's fundraising style, particularly among well-heeled attorneys. Just saying.Wither the minotaur: The Winged One had only just recovered from the news that lawmakers banned human-animal hybrids last session, given the wings and all. But now it appears that the new law could sideline Bill Montgomery’s newest political ad. There’s nothing but hybrids in this thing. Take a look for yourself if you doubt the Angel. Sure it’s a cartoon, and a silly one at that (the "Aussie" accent - LOL). But the GOP candidate for county attorney takes aim at his primary opponent, Rick Romley, for being a RINO by putting Romley’s head on the body of a hulking, thick-skinned horned mammal. Get it? Then Montgomery shoots him with a dart gun. OK, whatevs. But here’s the part that really has the Haloed One scratching its halo. Why is Gov. Brewer’s head on the body of a pink flamingo? Is it something about women and pink? Something about how flamingos stand on one leg, or hide their heads under a wing? The Angel teased during the legislative session about the animal hybrid bill being a bit whack-job, because it is. But Montgomery’s new campaign ad? Makes the measure look downright normal.
