The rematch between Democratic U.S. Rep. Harry Mitchell and Republican challenger David Schweikert has picked up right where it left off, and all signs indicate a nasty battle.

The dust has barely settled from last Tuesday's primary election, but Schweikert is attacking Mitchell with new campaign signs.

Gov. Jan Brewer on Tuesday demanded her Democratic rival denounce the labor unions that have called for an economic boycott of Arizona.

That's despite the fact her own political handlers said the boycott has left the state "largely unharmed."

Andy Thomas today conceded the Republican nomination for Arizona attorney general to Tom Horne, endorsing the opponent he labeled as a "con man."

In a statement issued late Tuesday morning, with several hundred provisional ballots left to be counted, Thomas said there was no way he could pull out a victory.
