Democrat Jon Hulburd on Wednesday launched a new ad on local Christian and conservative radio stations that slams Republican Ben Quayle for his ties to a bawdy gossip website.

The 60-second spot will air throughout the Valley for the next week and is yet another example of how the Democrat is running far to the political right of his party.

The rematch between Democratic U.S. Rep. Harry Mitchell and Republican challenger David Schweikert has picked up right where it left off, and all signs indicate a nasty battle.

The dust has barely settled from last Tuesday's primary election, but Schweikert is attacking Mitchell with new campaign signs.

Gov. Jan Brewer on Tuesday demanded her Democratic rival denounce the labor unions that have called for an economic boycott of Arizona.

That's despite the fact her own political handlers said the boycott has left the state "largely unharmed."
